New Delhi: The Centre appointed new directors to several Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on Monday. IIT Bombay professor Rangan Banerjee has been appointed as the next director of IIT Delhi.
“I am happy to inform you that Prof Rangan Banerjee from the Department of Energy Sciences & Engineering, IIT Bombay has been appointed as the next Director of IIT Delhi. Hearty congratulations and best wishes to Prof Banerjee,” former director professor V Ramgopal Rao tweeted.
IIT Madras professor V Kamakoti, who designed India’s first indigenously-developed microprocessor, has been appointed as the institute’s director, PTI reported.
IIT Bombay’s dean of alumni and corporate relations Suhas Joshi has been appointed as director of IIT-Indore. Laxmidhar Behera, IIT Kanpur electrical engineering professor, is the next director of IIT-Mandi.
