Story – There is an anecdote related to Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhiji was opposed to child marriage. He wanted that women should also get their rights, they should also be able to read and write and they should also get freedom.

Mahatma Gandhi often used to say that the pain I suffer, others should not suffer. He was married to Kasturba at a very young age. Kasturba was also not very educated. Gandhiji did not even allow him to go out of the house. Gandhiji himself admitted that I used to doubt my wife too. My mindset was narrow that Kasturba should not talk to other men.

Gradually Gandhiji matured, the truth always remained in his life. He opposed child marriage and he used to say in favor of women’s freedom and rights, ‘I have seen how men suppress women and what are the consequences of child marriage.’

This was the specialty of Gandhiji that he did all the experiments he did in life when he went through those situations. In those situations, if Gandhiji had made any mistake, he had never hidden that mistake. At the stage of improvement, definitely tell your mistakes to others.

Lessons – Gandhiji’s personality teaches us that mistakes happen to everyone. We must accept the mistakes and try to rectify them. When we accept mistakes, our confidence increases to correct them.
