Bomb Found In Abandoned Bag At Delhi’s Flower Market, Detonated

A controlled explosion was carried out by the teams on-site to detonate the bomb.

New Delhi:

A flower market in east Delhi’s Ghazipur has been cordoned off after a suspicious abandoned bag, within which a bomb was later recovered, was found at the spot today.

The bomb disposal squad, along with fire engines and the National Security Guard (NSG), have been deployed to the site. A controlled explosion was carried out by the teams on-site, as detonated the bomb.

The Delhi Police Special Cell, also on site, have registered a case under the Explosives Act. Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana confirmed to NDTV that the bomb found in the Ghazipur mandi was an improvised explosive device (IED).

Further investigation is currently underway.
